Hi there! I'm Sydney, and I'm a recent grad from UCR (Class of 2023!) with a B.S. in Sustainability Studies. I work under the Green Labs program here at the office, which implements a certification process to reduce energy and waste at research labs on campus without disrupting research objectives. I'm interested in sustainability, because I'm passionate about working towards the idea of a circular system that maintains balance within our society, whether that's ecological, environmental, etc. I came into college as an Entomology major, but (long story short) switched over to Sustainability in my Junior year. A lot of my undergrad years were spent in Entomology labs, specifically Urban Entm, and after graduating college, I wanted to stay in Riverside and find work in either the sustainability or natural science field. Through my background in research and passion for outreaching to the UCR community, my goal is to find a way to merge my two interests together via Green Labs. Some fun facts about me are that I'm a part of of Acts2Fellowship, a Christian club that gathers on campus, (feel free to say hi!) and my older sister and I are 3rd degrees in Tae Kwon Do.
