The Office of Sustainability

The Office of Sustainability serves as a central, non-partisan entity to facilitate and promote sustainability at UCR. Our office is responsible for guidance in implementing UC sustainability policies, reporting Green House Gas inventories, and communicating best practices to students, faulty, and staff.

Campus Sustainability Coordinator

John J Cook, PhD, MBA

The Campus Sustainability Coordinator assists campus departments, research centers, business units, and organizations in developing and analyzing sustainability-oriented projects and initiatives.

John arrived at UCR in November 2010 to further integrate sustainability across the campus and throughout the Riverside community. John holds a MBA in Sustainability form Presidio Graduate School, a MALS from Reed College, and a PhD in Performance Studies from Northwestern University. John is also a LEED Green Associate with certificates in Green Business, Green Engineering, and Green Architecture from the Chicago Center for Green Technology.
